I found the recipe for this cake while scrolling through my instagram feed.

It looked so simple that I just had to make it.

I’m glad I did! It was/is the tastiest cake I have made in a long time. I’m sure it’s the butter! It has the texture and taste of what I would describe as ‘proper’ cake. The homemade cakes I would have eaten as a child growing up. It was soft on the inside, with a perfect crust.

Definitely a go to cake for the future.
