A few few weeks ago, I decided that I just had not spent enough time with my lovely silver Nutribullet. I was also craving something to eat/ drink in the evenings that did not take to too much effort to make and was packed with goodness. So I eventually came up with something, I’m not sure about the goodness but it was tasty and a lot of fun to make.

A few years ago I was very much into my smoothies and juices. Initially for the novelty factor and then later in a rather, in retrospect  now perhaps, misguided attempt to lose weight. The weight loss did occur in rather dramatic fashion, I lost about 4 kg but it bounced right back and for the past two years I have been stubbornly the same weight whatever I do. I digress, somehow the making of smoothies and juices petered out and the Nutribullet lay unused and abandoned.

No longer…

I looked online for recipes that might help regulate a gut in rebellion and found a plethora of ‘cures’ , all very interesting and some beyond my imagination and my tastebuds. I finally settled on a combination of ingredients which I thought would taste nice and be quite gentle on my stressed out insides.

Ingredients

1 Cup oat milk

1/2 cup Oats

1 Banana

1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon

2 tablespoons Yoghurt

1/4 teaspoon Chia seeds

Handful of prunes

Method

Place in Nutribullet – blitz for 2 minutes

The result was rather thick – I ended up eating it with a spoon, and quite tasty. I had this for two evenings in a row and it did a nice job of settling my stomach. I have yet to think of a suitable name for this little creation, ‘Prune Pleaser’ springs to mind but I’m not really sure about that one. Answers on a postcard please!
