Monday morning…
I’m at my desk and it just five minutes shy of eight o’clock. I’m still feeling energised and no caffeine has been involved. I started off my commute listening to Beethoven’ symphony No 7 in A major, Op. 92 – II, Allegretto. I must confess that I don’t know what the numbers and letters mean but I know I enjoyed listening to all eight minutes and forty-one seconds offered by Spotify, on repeat until I reached the M25.
I had read an article on burnout over the weekend and one of its suggestions, improve the work situation, save leaving the job, was changing the work environment. I decided that this morning, while I chip through my tasks and clinic letters, I would like to look at some flowers. I bought a bunch of Chrysanthemums from the petrol station where I filled up the car. They are pretty and have improved my mood greatly.
And so I will start my day.
Wish me luck.
