I decided last Sunday night that I was going to make something to use up the bag of spinach , tray of mincemeat and bags of cous cous that I had. So I put these items in the Google search bar and this was one of the recipes that came up.

It’s from Hello Fresh and was fairly simple to make. I’ll have to admit though I was quite inspired by the recipe and the process, maybe I was not quite inspired by the taste. I didn’t of course have any chermoula mix, so I crushed up some lemon salt with coriander seeds, and mixed with garlic granules, paprika and lemon peel. Pretty random.

It was just OK

I think that taste of the beef came through too much for my liking. Maybe I’ve forgotten how minced beef tastes, it’s not something I eat that often. And the herby cous cous and yoghurt didn’t do much to offset or enhance any of it.

The next day – maybe it tasted a little better…

So, sadly, I won’t be exploring this again. But I do have new ideas about how to cook the endless bags of cous cous I seem to have piled up in my kitchen cupboards.

It looks delicious, shame that the flavours didn’t translate. When we do a ‘whats in the fridge put it all in a pan’ mean we use a few hot sauces to give it some pizzaz .. it usually works out but not always lol.

Yes! I guess all part of the fun and experimentation of cooking 🙂
