Wednesday mid-morning found me working from home and scrambling about in the kitchen for a quick and easy breakfast. When I woke up, I’d rushed to start my audit project, flipping open my laptop and getting straight into it without much thought about anything else. After an hour though, my body reminded me that I’d not broken my fast. So it was time to find some sustenance.

I do have a confession to make… I’ve not been able to sustain my magnificent breakfasts of earlier this year. It’s been toast and tea most mornings. This has been fine because, well, it’s better than nothing and it does mean that at least I press the pause button in the morning. However we are now more consistently buying Greek yoghurt and fresh blueberries and with honey and granola in the cupboards as staples, we have all the ingredients for a satisfying start to the day.

Late breakfast

It was very nice, the sharp sweetness of the blueberries, crunchiness of the granola, the smooth creaminess of yoghurt, finished off with the mellow sweetness of the honey. I sat in the conservatory and savoured every bite. For a long while after, I stared out of the window mentally cajoling myself to get back to the Excel spreadsheets that were calling for me. Eventually I washed up my bowl, made myself a coffee and sat back at my desk – refreshed by a break that was not at all fast!🙃

I am not a huge fan of breakfast foods so this happens to me quite often. I generally eat around 11AM so that I can eat lunch for breakfast. Lol.
